seraph permissions
In Tales of Zestiria, seraphim are basically nature spirits whom most people are unaware of. They can't be seen, heard, or touched by your Average Joe unless they have some amount of 'resonance'. That's basically how sensitive someone is to spirits/natural clairvoyance/heebly-jeeblies.
To make Dezel playable, people will gain resonance just by being around him for some period of time. He can also pop up in mirrors and reflective surfaces. Furthermore, Dezel will never show up on video, but his voice can still be heard over the network.
People who can sense seraphim in canon include the following:
+ monsters
+ supernatural shit and spirits like himself
+ animals or people with animal-like senses
+ humans with high resonance, as noted above
People who don't qualify as the above will be able to hear him after a number of weeks, and then see him not long afterward (outside of a mirror, that is).
To help both of us out, please fill out the form below to see how our characters can interact. This only applies to face-to-face interaction, as Dezel is audible over the network at all times. And if you're not sure, we'll figure it out! ♥

Character/Journal: Allen Walker (
Race: Human/Noah
How sensitive are they?: Allen is extremely sensitive, he cries nearly every arc I think.
Oh. Wait.

Player Name: KJ
Character/Journal: Katie McCoy (
Race: Changeling. Pooka. She's a fae soul hiding out in a human being, so she's kind of human but...not...
How sensitive are they?: Katie can see on a whole other realm of existence called the chimerical realm, which is where various creatures spawned from too many beliefs or or desires or dreams or nightmares tend to hang out. Some of them even follow various people around. Seraphs tend to fit the same kind of descriptor as chimera. Plus she's also a cat in her spare time and has cat senses even when she's human, so I think she'll probably be able to see Dezel clear as day |D

Character/Journal: Crowley (
Race: Demon
How sensitive are they?: Chances are he can see Dezel just fine. Mystic reality altering powers ho!
Character/Journal: Sokka (
Race: Human
How sensitive are they?: NOPE. Not even a tiny little bit.
Character/Journal: Fenris (
Race: Elf
How sensitive are they?: Prooobably not. The Lyrium might throw him out of whack a bit? I'm not sure. I'll let you decide that one.
Character/Journal: Cheese Sandwich (
Race: Pony
How sensitive are they?: Welp, he sure has animal senses. Nothing special within his canon, but they probably make a difference compared to your average human.
no subject
As far as Cheese goes, he can probably hear Dezel? Horses have pretty good senses, yeah?

/rips this off Mikleo's answer lol
Character/Journal: Maglor (
Race: Elf!
How sensitive are they?: TLDR time!
okay so Tolkien elves can almost certainly hear him and possibly see him, since they have that thing where they are attuned to the "song" of their world and very spiritually aware. This is especially true of the sort of elves who like Maglor were born in Aman/Paradise, where they have bright souls that literally kinda... spill out over their bodies, hence the glowing. Maglor is a bard, from a world built by song. So. Heeeeeeeeeee is even more attuned to the "song" of things, and IDK how this will play out XD He also grew up amongst the Tolkien world equivalent of angels and gods so.....
TLDR HE CAN PROBABLY HEAR DEZEL JUST FINE AND SEE HIM A LIL BIT he got a boost with Mikleo coz Mags has a thing about Water too

Race:
shorty sass tankHumanHow sensitive are they?: She can probably hear him. She's got ~space magic~, plus she'll never admit it out loud but she's superstitious shhh~ Might take her a while to actually be able to see him tho. Am also totally cool to work out something else if this sounds wrong to you o7

Race: Human
How sensitive are they?: Very. He's a wizard, to start off with, and canonically is prone to what he calls 'true dreams', which are semi-clairvoyant. He's also very sensitive to magic and can at least somewhat hear ghosts without aid. If he's deprived of access to his own magic, this is magnified. He does, however, have to make a specific effort to see a ghost, but he does know how to.
So, I'm sure he could hear Dezel right off the bat. Is there degrees of sight or is it a yes/no thing? In the very least, he might be able to force himself to see Dezel, but spirits =/= ghosts necessarily. Up to you.

As for the degrees, it goes hearing --> seeing, though sometimes it can be a bit blurry at first.

Character name and journal Fie Claussell (
Species: Human
Level of resonance: She'd possibly hear him at first. Fie's from a world where magic and spirits are a thing. While she's not naturally attuned to them herself, she has experienced/dealt with them and isn't closed minded at all. Also, she's a secondary contractor to a giant magical robot thing, so that's gotta count for something, right? Eventually she might be able to see him.
Character name and journal Asuna Yuuki (
Species: ... Undine. Right now. It's complicated
Level of resonance: See and hear I guess. She's stuck in a video game avatar turned into reality. So a magic wielding water fairy's pretty supernatural right?

Character/Journal: Keith (
Race: Human/Galra Hybrid
How sensitive are they?: Voltron canon uses something called "quintessence", which is described as a life force that makes up the universe. The Paladins and the Lions are in tune with this quintessence and use it bond and form Voltron. Keith is shown to potentially be somewhat more sensitive to quintessence, possibly due to his Galra heritage, as he is able to sense the Blue Lion's energy, and he's able to pilot the Black Lion, both of which he is not bonded to. His bond with the Red Lion is shown to be extremely powerful in that Red can respond and come to him when he needs her over very long distances, and she activates herself and attempts to rip open an outpost to get to him when he is in danger inside. It has been stated by the show's writers and creators that the next season will involve Keith finding new abilities due to his heritage.
That said, Keith only recently found out that he's not 100% human. Because of that, he has no idea what he's capable of and clearly has not honed or practiced with any of his potential. He's very rough around the edges and very unaware of anything he's capable of outside of things that just seem like he's a very skilled and durable human.
To balance, I've worked it out with Mikleo's player that Keith can probably hear the seraphim on first contact, but not see them, and will likely see them a little faster than a full human with no resonance sensitivity would. He is stationed on the Huntress as well, so regular exposure to the other seraphim and Sorey will likely help this along.

Character/Journal: Ginko (
Race: Human
How sensitive are they?: In his world, Ginko can see things called 'mushi'. What they are isn't exactly clear, but they seem to be some sort of spirit-ghost-bug thing. In any case, being able to see them is relatively rare.
Ginko has also come into contact with a mushi that, aside from changing his eye and hair color, has seemed to sharpen his ability to see them. So, basically, unless you have a problem with it I imagine he'd be able to see Dezel pretty clearly.

Feel free to judge him for his fashion choices.

Character/Journal: Character Name (
Race: Human/Vessel
How sensitive are they?: Merlan was a vessel for the seraphim Micah. I think she'd have zero problem with seeing him. (Or hosting him, if he wanted? IDEK.) Her faith is still really strong and she really misses Micah. He pretty much left a hole in her.
She'd be delighted to bump, so to speak, into him.
no subject
He doesn't go around possessing people though, so no worries about that. :) He's got Sorey, he's fine.

It'll be wonderful to have an angel around. It'll actually make her really happy.
